Just another day in Wyoming

As a "for instance" ... at 08:00 local time Monday 12/26, both I-80 and US-30 are closed between Rawlins and Laramie due to "Winter Weather Emergency". And even if you could get EB to Laramie, I-80 is usually closed between Laramie and Cheyenne if it's that bad over Elk Mountain, (for whatever reason).

But granted if it's just a wind issue, US-30 is often a reasonable option as far as between Laramie and Rawlins.

That state should be called "Wicked Wyoming." I spent my first 3 yrs of driving tor across i80. I've had my share of scares and knew when to get off the road if need be. You have to have certain amount of respect for the truck you're driving, the terrain you're in and the elements you're driving through.
