I don't care about equipment much. I actually really liked my freightliner. Just trying to find a correlation or secret in what to look for, from the outside looking in, to a "good" company that cares about their drivers. They all say they do. They all are wearing their Sunday best right now lol. I was all about Schneider for their training and safety boasts. I had it easy for the first 6 months. Automatic brands new truck. I'm expecting I'll be going to something older and used up depending on where I go. It's less of a deciding factor than compatibility.
6/21/16 Is the beginning of my Schneider career!!!

6 mos. experience is good for Big-G Express.
Danny Herman Trucking is good for dry van and doesn't run northeast or New York City. nice trucks set up for driver comfort. They run lots of southern lanes all the way to Calexico,CA right on the Mexican border plus the border towns in Texas; Laredo, El Paso, etc.
K&B Transportation also doesn't run northeast or New York City and has a guaranteed minimum $1125.00 weekly pay; you can earn more, but not less.
A&R Logistics hires with 6 mos. experience and don't need hazmat. Annual pay runs from around $62K - $72K. They try to get you home on weekends if possible.Last edited: Dec 27, 2016

Well good luck to ya waggledaddy! All I would add is, is that it's all trial and error, listening to people who have been through it, research, research, research! Don't get discouraged, it's hard to be all excited about something and put your faith in someone and have it all pulled out from under you because somebody lied or exaggerated. Just keep pluggin at it. I've been in my present job 33 yrs now and have quit 3 times to drive, (long story, I've had an interesting life)and gone back every time because of the money, hometime and bennie's. I hate it but it is what works best for us even though I work graveyard seven days a week, I would much rather be holding a steering wheel but it wasn't meant to be I guess. I've got a post on the "Welcome Wagon" thread, "Watching the Parade go by", it's just a brief description of my experience driving. Trucking can be and usually is pretty cruel, some or a lot of it self inflicted, or it can be the best and most enjoyable job you've ever had. I hope you find the latter!

Sorry to see you go but I'm happy you finally said enough's enough. I don't think anyone could say you didn't try. You'll do fine wherever you end up. Between the months of per diem crap and seemingly daily issues with CS, I don't know how you stuck it out this long.
