CH Robinson was not all BAAAD.. just LAZY when they wanted to. We had a Sprint Dual Band cell phone that we gaurded with our lives because it liked to roam, and then we go home to see several boxes the size of telephone books from sprint that contained error packed billing in very large numbers for which we have to argue back down to normal monthly rates as possible.
CH Robinson got ahold of our number once and demanded through our Dispatcher several times a hour to call them direct. I know the load of cherries is a nice load but darn it CH, you call dispatch if you wanna know if we made 100 miles since the last time we talked two hours ago ffs.
Makes me wanna put the cell between the 5th wheel jaws and slam flip the trailer king pin into it.

You got the first one, PA...The other two were:
- I-95 Maine (55> too fast), I sped up in the right lane just to get that third sign to light up and smile for the camera....
- The truckstop photo was the Truckers Inn down in Jessup, MD, back before it was defiled....
4mer trucker Thanks this. -
##### IT. I knew it was JESSUP. *Pounds coffee pot.
Me and my big mouth, I kept coming back to that photo... It was the view point that gave it away, possibly taken from the vantage point of the doorway on the lot side of the building that enters the second story I think.
I kept looking at that white and green shack in the far side of the lot, if memory serves it's still there to this day.clausland Thanks this. -
Yeah, I used to stop there on the way back from VA/NC and get a room sometimes, usually on a Friday night....There used to be a bar down in the basement back in the day....Another stop I liked was Dysarts in Bangor, ME.....
x1Heavy Thanks this. -
They used to have a framed truckers creed on the wall opposite the handicapped elevator where you pass through from the gift shop to the main area.
The game room down below was a interesting place back in the 80's but you learned to stay away later on.
Ive always wondered if anyone ever saved that Truckers Creed. It might be ridiculous to some but it was well written and should have been saved for the young ones today. -
I run a car carrier. Auto hauling is one of the few industries that provide (somewhat) regular work coming out of FL, thanks to all the shipping ports here.

As a SC native I think I may be able to answer that question. The coastal waterway from NC to GA are inhabited by a people called the "Gullah" (in SC slang we called them "Geechees"). They are descendants of slaves who used to work the rice and indigo plantations of that region back in the Antebellum era. Yes, they definitely have their own language and English dialect. They also have some really good food. They sort of remind me of the Creoles, except they're not French.x1Heavy Thanks this.

I would have the say the Midwest and places out west for the best areas to run. Now the worst is anywhere in the Eastern seaboard

Living in the north east sucks for trucking. Everything seems to be funneling into the big cities and you have to claw your way out only to get sent right back.x1Heavy and Texas_hwy_287 Thank this.
