They can usually find him a co-driver IF he doesn't have one in mind.....
Need to find a person that is compatible with him...also check to see if any other dedicateds are open...ie Coors is a solo fleet..... Dole is a very time sensitive fleet.
    Good Luck

He is on the Dole account now during training. His trainer told him he'd put in a good word for him if he wanted to find a co-driver. He doesn't mind this route because he gets through near us every week. We live in Nevada so he was kinda trying to find someone out west but no luck so far.

Make sure he is compatible with his co-driver I couldn't imagine being stuck in a truck 24/7 with someone who has bad hygiene or listened to rap :biggrin_25512: Lol. (omg I'm showing my age now)
I am happy he is doing so much better with his new trainer.

Coors takes teams too. They used to be solo only, but not anymore.

    Kraft is a solo dedicated.

Central won't help you find a co-driver, so Wayne will need to find one on his own. He'll want to make sure they're compatible, and find out if he can trust the co-driver. Personally, I wouldn't go to work as a solo driver, and hope to find another person at the company to team with, especially since winter's coming.

Tell Wayne that if he decides to team, he's going to be making less money and doing more work. Sounds funny, but it's true. He'd see more as a solo driver doing 2700 miles a week than he would as a team doing 5000. And he'd be able to sleep in a non moving truck, and not have to deal with another person.

    STAY SOLO
Try for Kraft at 6 months, if they are hiring in your area. It is 38 cpm. You loose detention and stop pay, but the base pay more than makes up for the loss. Allot is drop and hook anyway.
I would not have stayed with the company as long as I did if not for Kraft, and I would not have felt bad leaving.

I'm curious and have been following this thread because I worked for Central in 2004 (just trained with them for 2 months before having to jump off and take care of my mom)... Wayne will be a new driver... and they will put him on a dedicated run for Kraft? at .38 cpm? things have changed... or I missed something here.

At 6 months you can apply for all the dedicated fleets. Sometimes you can get on sooner than that, it all depends on your record, if they like you, etc etc.

Oh, one thing worth mentioning. That paperless log thing? It's happening now. They're having the trainers learn it and use it so that they can train everyone that goes into orientation with it. It started last week, or the week before.

They're also having regular drivers come in and take the class. If you wish to avoid it until they make the announcement and start pulling everyone in, don't be seen in the SLC terminal (especially the main building) while they're doing log book classes, which are at 10am and 3pm.

Don't mind being one of the first to go paperless? Might want to pop into safety in SLC one day and ask about it.
