Once you get driving experience these guys hire new car hauling drivers. Maybe they have changed, but they paid good. Driving an older truck with a coffin sleeper gets old pretty quickly. They pay good but it hot in the summer and cold in the winter. You can't just put on big winter coat a gloves when your backing a $90,000 cars on your truck because you can get grease from trailer inside the cars. Laying in bed to put you clothes on and off every day get old to.

Do a search this has been asked and covered numerous times. -
Times change though. And now that we're in a slow period I haven't seen anyone advertising that they're hiring anything except experienced stinger operators. On top of that only seen a few that were even hiring at allTall Mike Thanks this.

Jack Cooper was running ads in Chicagoland last week
Hiring rookiesTall Mike Thanks this. -
Not sure where you are located but if Jack Cooper is hiring in Chicago area that would be a great place. Usually they need drivers in Ft. Wayne and train rookies there if and when they can't find experienced drivers. Some people will tell you that you should get experience first. I am not one of those people because I know several excellent carhaulers who became a carhauler as their first driving job. It absolutely will not be easy, but it can be done. Cooper's training program is top notch! If you can drive the rig they may give you a shot.

Interesting thread.
What is the most dangerous aspect of Hauling Cars? -
Trying not to fall off or drive a car off the truck. Many a carhauler has received a major debilitating injury. It's the hardest job you will either love if you make it that long, or hate!Tall Mike and tech10171968 Thank this.
