It seems the way they plan you is so you can hit the bonuses and not much more...I wouldn't imagine a hard working team making much more than a solo.

Only reason I'm teaming is to be with my girlfriend.

 

Solo I run 14k a month have done as high as 15900

Team I run around 22k a month and have run as high as 29k but I take a week off every month so 21-22k is normal..

Learn to guide your manager on what you want to do.. I've NEVER sat and reset as a team anywhere

 

You'll also make a bunch more money about $12-15k a year as a team

 

We just got a load that isn't due to the 4th and last week we had to wait 17 hours for a load I asked if they had anything else and the answer is no so go with that as you will. Also every single load we have had a 3-7 hour wait in between

Iv also talked to 2 other teams that stay out for a month and they both said they usually hit 18k miles or so then get dispatched on a 2k mile run and go home (making you eligible for the bonus)

 

Utilize our drop yards and get on a schedule with your driver manager. Pm me who it is... December and holidays are also odd at times for freight...

I'm looking hard at DHT and K & B but I'm keeping an ear to the wall listening for any other companies that I should be checking into.

 

Does DHT allow the wife to ride along?

 

Yes, but you would need to fill out a form and pay a fee.

 

I've also been looking at Millis Transfer, Wel Companies, Abilene, Magnum, haven't heard too many negative thing's said about them.

 

I have been keeping up with this thread and any others I can find on DHT. I like what I see. I like the running Lanes. Seem to have decent equipment. And I like the fact they have drop yards that you could potentially use to keep moving. But for some reason maybe it's just me I just cannot seem to bring myself to work for .38 / CPM and have to depend on bonuses to make a paycheck every week, or months, or quarter or yearly. And another thing....I like to run hard but I'm also getting older. with age comes wisdom and why in the world do I want to drive 32- 3400 miles a week every week when I can make the same pay only running 2432 miles a week using 3200 as a example. I understand there are mileage bonuses. But that's the point that I am making why should I kill myself just to get a bonus when I can make just the same amount of money and not have to run myself in the dirt to get bonuses in order to make the same amount of money at the end of the year. .38/cpm ??? Really?!!!! I was making. 36cpm in 1991. I am so tired of this new school mentality the thinking ..,UH WELL I only make .30something cpm but I get all the miles I want attitude. that's why these companies can get away with paying such low wages because of the driver mentality. Aside all that I like what I read about DHT
