Hi all I haven't seen much info on this subject so I figure I'd someone who maybe has a better idea than I do about it. I've been offered an International straight truck which was originally 24ft and was converted to a 26ft. I'd like to buy it but would like to know if it'll actually hold heavy weight? Has anyone heard or seen such a conversion? I just want make sure it's safe to work. I plan on using it as a Dry-van for cargo. It'll be a 26ft with liftgate. Any advice would be very appreciated. Thanks in adsvance.

Frame extensions are done all the time.Provided they were done by a professional there should be nothing to worry about.

Well go to a upfitter who specializes in putting boxes on trucks for special purposes. YOU can start by contacting the box makers. Two feet isn't an issue, the issue will be if the axle is in the right location for that extra two feet and if the life gate is useful at all, which may just be the two feet needed.

What do you think as heavy weight?

YOU do know that you will need a reinforced floor because forklifts will drive on it.
