Easyest way to remove old races is to weld a bead on them about an inch or so.

To install buy the tool or make one out of the old bearing race flat plate and a whatever will stand up to a hit from a hammer. I clean the hub apply a thin coat of grease to the race and drive it in with a 3 lb Hammer takes about 1 minute.

I have used punches and hard wood to drive in races but punches will Mar the hub and possibly the race if not careful brass punch will work but deform easily so usally last resort

    Ozdriver Thanks this.

I thought I'd share a tool I made awhile back to pound in wheel seals on aluminum hubs. I didn't have any driver sets to use so I made this image.jpeg
Laying a good piece of wood over the seal and hitting with a hammer works good too but I have better control with this.
