A lot of bulk plastic and some carbon plus the three ps of timber: poles, plywood, and paper. There is quite a bit of furniture coming out of the tupelo area, too. I haul my fair share of nanners and chickens, too. Still, I end up deadheading to Memphis on occasion.

Didn't know Howard hires new grads. That's worth looking into.

I do have some gaps in employment history. One after my first seasonal job for about 6 months. I now have a steady employment history. I took a seasonal position and then left for a part time job because that seasonal job was only for a month but then I was going to be unemploymed again. They told me that during the interview

I did my application with jim palmer. The recruiter a mr luke riley called within an hour to discuss the application. I couldn't answer due to poor service and bad weather. I sent him an email saying that I was sorry I couldn't talk at the moment but with the winter storm and snow/sleet my signal was poor at best. He replied within an hour saying that was perfectly understandable and he would talk to me Monday. They seem to be very professional and understanding

Palmer has only reefers. You can haul dry freight in a reefer, of course. I don't think JP has any flatbed. The prime advantage of Jim Palmer is running long mils to/from the West. They require you to stay out 3 weeks before getting home time. You can designate your hometime to be taken anywhere you have a safe place to park the tractor. I think you need to designate your hometime 2 weeks in advance. You accumulate 1 day off for each week out, but they don't want you to take more than 5 days off. They are flexible & reasonable about all of that. They do have at least 1 driver living in South Florida. 1 YouTube driver of theirs I think is from VA.

That was my experience dealing with them. I never had the recruiter tell me anything not verified by a driver I was talking to at the same time. Other than the driving areas, what I liked about them was they have all the advantages of a big company, because they are affiliated with Prime, but you re dispatched like you work at a 250 driver company. When you need fuel, repairs, washout, breakdown, etc. you might as well be a Prime Inc. driver. Also, they have a Prime smarthphone app so you can send/receive Qualcomm messages, scan your bills, etc without having to babysit that Qualcomm unit in the truck.

Jim Palmer trucks have big inverter, TriPac APU, no fridge unless you buy it, & run 62 mph. The inverter is big enough to run a microwave, a fridge, coffee maker, TV. If you want, the company will install a satellite TV gear at no cost, but you pay the monthly bill. I keep hearing the TV pkg includes HBO and NFL. I think the bill is $100/mo, I'm not sure.

I didn't realize they had an inverter but i am guessing thats pretty common now for newer trucks. Im really hoping to get on with them. I'm tired of a mcdonalds pay check. Its all my town offers really.
