MAN used to have a 1000HP V12 engine for really heavy tractors. They still have it, and even a bigger one, but now these engines are only available for ships and locomotives etc.
Why do so many Americans hate European trucks?

Sure, but still no headroom.

You obviously have no clue what you are talking about when it comes to north American trucks. I can't even touch the ceiling in most full sized sleeper otr trucks. Even in my midroof i have plenty of head room, to i can touch the cieling. As for width, is have to measure it to get am exact measurement, but it's just 8 ft exterior, so 7 ft 6 inch or so interior.
Edit to add: in the vast majority of NA trucks the sleeper and cab are NOT two separate pieces.Last edited: Jan 9, 2017
Bean Jr. Thanks this. -
I was talking about the cab, not the sleeper. Look at that video clip of the Western Star, That guy can almost touch the ceiling sitting down!
-
By god you are obtuse. The sleeper IS the living space. Space above the seats is only useful for storage. As fir that western star, If it's built anything like my truck, that's not the ceiling. It's the bottom of cabinets.

@98989 you might like this one. Lots of technical systems.... That I don't like

Yes, and if you had read my contributions carefully, then you might have understood that in many EU trucks there is so much headroom over the seats that you can stand between the seats, and still have about one foot of headroom. That is why in an EU truck that area between the seats is also living space. In an EU truck the microwave can be installed over the front window for instance. Look again at the clip of the Scania.

Cab size doesn't mean anything. I'm sitting in an air seat and driving. I'm not dancing with my girlfriends in there.

That picture is photoshopped.
