I have a 2007 kenworth that i swapped a 6nz into. The only problem I am having is that the cruise control does not work. To make a long story short I used the configuration file out of a 2006 kenworth that also has 6nz in it and the cruise control doesn't work in that either. Any ideas?

Was the accert a 70 pin truck side plug also ?? Did you need an 120-70 pin adapter?
I would check and see if the pin outs are in same spot as the 6nz pin outs for the cruise.
In other words the wires coming from truck to the ecm for crusie/set/resume are going to the right pins for your 6nz.
Im not 100% sure but you might be able to change the pin inputs in the ecm with cat et also.
The accert might have different configuration.Oxbow and snowman_w900 Thank this. -
The truck side will be the same. If you had the sdp Acert you would need to do a pin swap on 11 & 21 truck side to fix fan running all the time. Does your jake work? If jakes work I would do a wire test at cruise switch and see what is going on.

Not an sep believe it was a MXS. Jake Brakes Work. On cat et it senses the brake is on for the cruise but not for the brake lights. any idea which breaker that is?

It may be your brake switch, raise pedal and try to set cruise.

In your configuration, how is the clutch, brake and cruise switches configured? Your KW most likely has these over the J1939 data link through your CECU (our 2007 Petes do). If you use the old flash file, they wont work. The newest cat flash files support J1939 and every works fine once configured. If your configuration in Cat ET does not give you the option to set them as J1939, you have an old flash file. A work around is to wire all those things to the proper pins on the ECM, but it's much easier to flash it with a file that supports J1939 and not mess with wiring. If you hard wire them, you may run onto an ABS fault because the ABS gets it's brake light signal over J1939, so you'd have to rewire and configure the ABS as well. I dealt with this last year, since the engine swap, the owner had an ABS light on. The fault was "Brake lamp fault" and needed to be hard wired and reconfigured.

Can you email me a 500 flash file for a 6nz?
