Type of CB antenna needed

This 81 inch antenna talked 85 miles on its first day in service on this particular truck

 

With that being said it is obviously a well-grounded antenna. You could not use Factory mounting and Factory grounds and get that type of reception or Output

 

The guy spent a couple hundred dollars on ground straps to achieve those results. I didn't participate in the installation process so I'm not sure what was involved except I do know that he used the factory mounting hole

 

Here's another one I made for that same type of truck.
I used the factory mount and Factory grounds and it worked fairly well.

That applies to any antenna regardless of how it is constructed.
