This what makes TTR. Sharing knowledge, they didn't have a problem, explaining why they left SNI. Like I said before, they have not said one sentence about LS.

I don't think so. I think LS is not what they thought it would be. Not one sentence about LS. LS and SNI is the same.

No LS, and Sni aren't the same.. The rates aren't the same at all..I see rates... You guys been here long enough to be brainwashed... True owner ops do more than just click and go.. You build relationships with agents. You make calls and you build a reputation for yourself where the loads find you...I never let myself think this was the be all end all..I took it for what it's worth.. it has great hometime but that's it... The guys who are doing great at LS are running circles around the top guys here. And working alot less.. Not just LS but any true owner op company is always better than a owner op company with company trucks. That's common sense.. And you mention how guys go to LS and don't comment the guys who work there dobt even comment on here. Check there thread.. It's once in awhile they may come on.. I'm tell you what it's alot of SFi trucks pulling LS trailers out here.. Look a little closer. People talk about wanting to run their authority but complain about having to deal with agents.. That's all you deal with.. So I'm missing somethingo_O

Ok prove me wrong when you get there. Come back here and explain the difference. Dude I'm not brain washed. I make money here period. I can make money anywhere I go. It's not rocket science, if you know your BEP. You are half way there. LS dry van is the same. Talking to a agent is a recruiting tool with them. In the long run, you will make the freaking same money. Dry van sucks anywhere you go.

Schneider is Van and giving up a huge %
Landstar Van is still well Van and giving up a huge %

I really can't see how Landstar or Schneider rates can differ by that much.

    % is a recruiting tool.

We all pull for the highest rate per mile we can get.

As far as rates, it's sort of like drugs the more they're stepped on the weaker they are.

So, fundamentally, you're saying the better you're able to make yourself special to other human beings, and don't fool yourself into thinking this is based on your JOB PERFORMANCE, the better your chances at making more money.

If you're more noticeable in the personality department, if the broker thinks you stand out in some way on the phone, if you're able dazzle and impress with your dynamic interaction with these brokers that hear hundreds of drivers a day, you might just jump forward in the mind of a broker that has an extra special profitable load just for you?

Face it, performance in this job is showing up on time and not being a dick to the customer. 90% achievement rate for even steering wheel holders. What makes you SPECIAL.

I only say this based on seeing people complain about having to from "relationships" with brokers. Brokers are like strippers, they've seen it all, and you really have to be extra special to see the special room. /smirk

Honestly, I don't know anything about it first hand, but it reminds me of any sort of situation where you have to be salesman on some level. I hate sales, I just want to work and make money without the sweet talk.

They aren't. I did very extensive homework before I decided between the two. Sat down with a handful of LS drivers. Couple guys were in the 1. 30 range all miles. This was back in June. Plus LS charges you more BS fees than SNI does. Stay away from Chicago because you pay all tolls now, and no not all agents will bump your rate up to cover. And no company trucks? Think again. Lots of agents have their own fleets. Who do you think is getting the good freight first? Agents can put freight on non LS trucks if they don't get the rate they want. You? You're stuck relying on agents for freight. They've got you right where they want you.

I used to work for LS now I'm back to driving a company truck and making way more money. Good luck to anyone going to LS I will say LS does have a pretty cool boat cruise you get for 10 years of safe driving as a safety reward.

Wait till people learn that all them LS loads you see on the load board. A good number of them are not even real loads. Lots of times the LS agent has to call the shipper back to see if the load is still available. Because unlike SNI, LS can't commit to a load without a truck. So the agents just post loads. Then you call and find out the shipper already had the covers.

It's the freight they haul. You pull scrap paper and it's cheap. You haul machinery or DOD loads pays more. SNI can't pull the better paying loads since they have no air ride trailers. They can only pull the cheap stuff. And it's getting cheaper. When's the last time you loaded forklifts in your trailer?? SNI won't do it.
