So I'll have my CDL in a couple weeks. I'm in the Ohio area and looking for the right Carrier for me. I've researched allot of companies reviews, read allot of forums, and talked to quite a few recruiters as well. I just think they're like car salesmens and tell me what i like to hear and the reviews are so scattered throughout the country that it's hard to tell what to believe for them in my neck of the woods at least. The ones i was considering so far were NTB Trucking and US Xpress. Any advice for recent CDL graduates in the Dayton OH area?

They used to haul a lot of loads for Target. Used to see them pulling Target trailers, all the time, but haven't seen them pulling Target trailers lately. There contract must be up. But there still around.G13Tomcat, Pontimaniac and street beater Thank this. -
Yeah a recruiter came into school a week ago and said they have a Meijer account now based in tipp city. Said i could make 48k to 52k my first year there but didn't know if that was achievable or just pulling my leg on the amount.

Pontimaniac... Curious if you're who I think you might be. Did you live in NC when you were younger?

Look at Watkins Shepard trucking they have all kinds of dedicated stuff in OH for new grads. I been with em 14 months. Made right at 65k last year.
Pontimaniac Thanks this. -
NTB is the better option. I've delivered to Meijer distribution centers and NTB is a major carrier for them.
