Picking up that load Monday and having to wait 4 hrs to get loaded started a chain reaction. I was late delivering which means I'm late for my next pick up. Going to be late for delivery. And might possibly be late for the next pick up. My next load picks up here in wyandotte going to Knoxville southeastern freightline. Then deadhead to South Carolina and bring that load to Memphis. Which that Memphis load might be pulled from me. My dispatcher called this morning asking if I got loaded last night. Somebody dropped the ball. Cause I sent a message stating I would be out of hours once I got unloaded. I sent two messages never did get any reply. So he was like crap and ok. So who knows what's going to happen.

Today makes three months of being solo. I ended up swapping loads with another driver. He took my load to deliver and bring me back and mty. I'm just babysitting his load. I didn't notice that I wasn't going to make that load due to only have 3hrs on my 70. I was more then four hours away. Once he bring me an mty I got to get rolling to pick up in South Carolina.

I'm going to start posting my miles for the week. At the end of each pay period. I make 39 a mile plus $50 for hazmat loads. Only had one hazmat load this week.

    01/09 = 322 mi
    01/10 = 517 mi
    01/11 = 497 mi
    01/12 = 587 mi
    01/13 = 422 mi
    01/14 = 337 mi
    01/15 = 409 mi
I still have 96 miles left to go on this trip. That will bring my week to 3187 miles. Cut off is Monday at midnight going into Tuesday.

This week has been a good strong one for me. Hope others are getting the same. I'm at the receiver now getting unloaded. Also will be getting reloaded here going to la porte, tx. Going to be running off recaps for the next 2 weeks. KLLM sure do not like for you to take a 34 out on the road. Which is fine by me. Just keep me moving.

Mark is the VP and Kandi took over David Bilbo job. Kevin took over Kandi job. Apparently right now they aren't taking in any FFE students, all the students are going to KLLM. I've been with FFE for 3 months so far as well. Everything is going pretty good. All my checks have been outstanding and the miles are going good too. Some weeks are slower than others, but I usually never wait longer than 1-2 days for a load. My brother is on his 2nd week with his trainer, he has 8 million miles and has driven for 31 years. And as for taking a different route than the fuel route they have never complained about. As for the concealed firearm rules, both FFE and KLLM forbid it. Do I agree with that rule, no but I'd rather not risk it. As for the federal law regarding firearms, it's one of the biggest controversies in trucking. It is correct that you can have a firearm as long as you have a permit and when crossing state you can only carry concealed if that state honors your home state permit. As for states like CA, NJ and some others there is a Federal Peaceable Journey law and yes this also applies for CMVs, this law states that you may transport a firearm through a state that does not honor your permit, as long as that firearm is unloaded and locked in a non readily accessible compartment, which means you can't have it in your glove box or under a seat ect.. Your side box is allowed since you would need to exit the vehicle to open it. Same goes for ammunition. There is no federal law restricting firearms in a CMV. However there has been cases where drivers have been arrested because the officer didn't know the law. If I am wrong please let me know with proof. But again I still choose not to have a firearm in my truck because my company says no.
