West valley Terminal. Repowering a load of glass in the morning going to Sacramento.
Was supposed to repower it tonight. But the driver shut down in Rawlins.
So now the load will be late still.Gonna discuss in the morning with DM. -
Gary, Indiana.
Turning in the truck. Got a local job that will have me home every day. Leaving on good terms though. Who knows, maybe my cats will drive me crazy enough to want to be home most weekends again.FerrissWheel, Moosetek13 and scottied67 Thank this. -
Toledo, OR... AGAIN!
This place is such a joke, unless you get here when no other trucks are coming in. That is rare.
Get in line until you are at the front, then go to the guard shack. Each one takes around 10-15 minutes.
Once there, if you are dropping a load, it goes quickly.
Picking up a load is entirely different.
A few days ago my load wasn't ready until 3 hours after the appointment time for the pre-loaded trailer.
This pick up, on the pplan, had a window from 0800 this morning until 1800. Well, it isn't scheduled to be loaded until tomorrow - sometime before 2100. Who knows when.
I'll check back in the morning. If it isn't loaded I'm going to see if I can be taken off this load and get something else.
I really need some more miles in this weeks pay period. If I can't pick this up before tomorrow night I'll never make it to Visalia, CA by Wednesday.
No truck stops within 100 miles of here either. They have us park in the dirt lot on the outskirts. -
Went there once ... will never go back. Same with Parson, WV.

And that on more than one occasion, drove me nuts in reefer. Certain meat plants in MN that rhyme with JBS are notorious for that crap. But they did have the good sense to warn me in the dispatch, and remind me of layover pay. Only reason I went with it, was because the run was always 1500miles+.
And many others, I'd get the dispatch, see a preloaded reefer "sweet" I think. Then get there and wait for them to load what was supposed to be preloaded.
But if I ever see a dryload from there I'll ask em what else they got. -
Donners pass WB rest area. Somewhere past Truckee.
Deliver at 9AM in Sacramento. Customer was completely understanding of the slight delay. Told me to update them in the morning.
So the first person that picked this up in MN went to Gary and turned in his keys. Left all his Securement and tarps on. Another guy running on recaps ran it to SLC where I got it.
But finally I have a stepdeck with all its ramps. But it's missing the stands. -
Layover is for between loads. Detention is for the current load.
I wonder about this place. They make the paper rolls as they are needed, but it seems never on the schedule that they give the trucking companies. Everyone waits for hours.
The loads are heavy paper from here. They have a scale but it isn't very good.
My tandems were at 33,600 here, the drives much lighter. So I moved it 4 holes to even it up a bit.
When I got to a TA to get a scale ticket the tandems were at 33,400 - AFTER I had moved them 4 holes!
My next mac 9 for this place will be a simple 'no'.
The reason will be that they never have the load ready, and I never get enough detention pay to compensate for the down time.
Because, even delivering an easy drop to this place, my next load out will be from here.
The people I've dealt with in the guard shack have always been great to me though. Always friendly.
But I can tell that they are as stressed out as are all the drivers that hound them about the wait times.
I feel sorry for them, because they are in the same boat.FerrissWheel Thanks this. -
Wow moose... that place must have changed since last time i been there. Been there about 4 to 6 times and really been on time with loads. Had only one issue and that was when i went there empty. They want you to bring a load of scrap paper. But got lucky and they let me pick it up. Beautiful drive in. Their scales has always been pretty close. I always stopped at that small scalehouse to check. Its never open and the scale is always on.

I was there a couple years ago and it was no where near as bad.
My loaded call went out at 1302, so it was a pretty long wait. Hopefully I'll get some good detention pay.
In my mac 22 I set my ETA for 1800. It had been scheduled for 1400.
I got a message from a DM that said he changed my PTA but that I was outside the delivery window and he would contact the planner and CSR, Perhaps the place closes early and it needs to be rescheduled?
