When it is done right, it works and works well.
I don't like to nickle and dime drivers and when they are good, I do good.
The banter about anything on par with the going rate of the bottom of the scale seems to just speak of cheap.
One thing I have found out by talking to a lot of owners who do 1099 is many of them will not even consider my approach to employment, they want to 1099 the driver so to make as much money as they can and many of those have low bank accounts so they can't make payroll let alone do it right.

I was agreeing with you.
It's the lazy way to do it. No offense intended. -
NP, just too tired of being on the computer today, I'm stuck in bed today still healing up from my accident in November.swaggerjacker Thanks this.

Workers comp is a scam. If i ever worked as a company driver again i would demand to be paid on a 1099.

If I may ask, what happened in Nov?

I'd say if you banked on halving that number you'd be safe. As the add says "your results may vary"

Sounds like a good gig. I don't have any issue paying that if that's what it cost but I get plenty of drivers at what I'm offering. I think I may go ahead and start paying for every drivers OAC policy if I can get a quote for 100-140$ a month per driver
