Well I think what hurt the guy is that he told a customer what happened, this is a lack of maturity.

Pretty long winded post for a guy who has no tolerance for conversation...

(that's a joke - something tells me you might not catch on to that)

PS - beautiful weather we're having here ;)

I won't work for someone who swears at me. I work hard and expect to be treated with respect. If a supervisor can't handle that I'll work for somebody else. I'll also tell them that to their face. As far as dick jokes go you can get yourself into a lot of trouble with them. Not appropriate in the work place. But it does happen so don't overreact.

Not correct. If the comment is true, regardless of whether it is negative or not, it is not slander.

    slander
    n. oral defamation, in which someone tells one or more persons an untruth about another which untruth will harm the reputation of the person defamed.

    http://legal-dictionary.thefreedictionary.com/slander
People think they are immune from having a negative experience or reputation follow them to new employment, but they are mistaken.

In some circumstances, including the giving of employee references, the law seeks to encourage frank and honest assessments. Therefore, provided that the employer is not acting with malice, it is permitted to respond to a request for a reference by giving an opinion, even if that opinion would tend to harm the employee’s reputation and their job prospects.

The last quote may differ somewhat from jurisdiction to jurisdiction, but definitely applies with respect to @Jazz1's post.

I drove for a guy who owned a construction company,he was the worst of the worst. Not a day went by where he wasn't yelling at somebody.I've known him for 12 yrs and not once have I ever seen him smile or home about anything.Well he yelled at me because I got stuck as I was dumping material and he had to push me out with his bulldozer.I told him to go to hell and continued working thru the season.I wont put up with it.

Back to the OP, you don't need to go in to all the gory details: you quit because of a better opportunity someplace else. If you insist on sharing your past problems with future employers expect to be unemployed for a long time.
