I've been using Trazodone for more than 20 years - and it was prescribed for depression and sleeplessness. It worked amazingly well. I love it. HUGE side effects though - weight gain - drowsiness, extreme dizziness and loss of balance, heavy eye lids, looking as though your stoned or drunk, sleepiness, chronic fatigue, confusion & forgetfulness, moodiness, sudden crying. It will affect awareness, Situational awareness, depth perception, speed perceptions, Sunlight sensitivity, while causing serious Mental Farts, can't follow through with thoughts and ideas, won't be able to discuss issues and problems within a marriage well, sex disinterest, unable to handle money well, and will forget and can't track these as well; Dates, Months, Time. Names, Programs and Schedules, plus people will view your General Flakiness and Disconnection, Being ZONED OUT and Oblivious, Not Giving a Flying Finger , Not taking anything Serious and Laughing it, or becoming seriously outraged and inflamed over seemingly trivial things! And although every one close to you may know you're taking this drug - they will have problems dealing with your overall countenance. This is WHY the D.O.T. has issues with this drug. Not telling them is a recipe for disaster - I know - I've lost my D.O.T. certificate and I doubt I'll get back.

 

I took that particular one 2 weeks flat. Gave the bottle back to the doctor and said let' something else get into the system. As luck would have it The heart doctor prescribed pain medicine temporarily for the sternum, and that was prior to still yet another doctor who identified the issue as small joint arthritis in 10 minutes that 12 years could not do.

Once that diagnosis was confirmed, there was medical evidence to move into pain management at that point.

It was also a turning point for DEA, Arkansas and the Pharmacy's board when new laws went into effect.

Then in 2008 we had a new president with Obamacare getting passed by a Dem majority one evening in congress. The celebrations died when the true epic scale of this monstrosity started taking hold. I never did participate in it. Not willingly anyhow.

I consider myself one of the lucky few.

I now consider myself a cursed few. So, it's created a interesting situation here at home.
