You don't get it. I didnt say you solicited me, that's just a stupid assumption. You wanted my truck # and you #### sure wasn't interested in "helping" me. I do just fine which is why I'm still here. You claimed the company pays detention then admitted to me that you don't get detention. You were confusing it with layover pay. Two different animals. So you claim something exists that you say you don't get. If that ain't deceptive I don't know what is. And I guess you don't sit in Laredo over the weekend waiting for Monday to get a load out, like the 5 other trucks were doing along with me. Or sit in Calexico for a few days. If you ain't preplanned out of those areas heading into a weekend you will sit. Or you didn't think that was important info to relay to folks asking questions. DHT will give you lots of miles but you will sit sometimes. You paint rosey pictures for new drivers or folk's asking questions about a company they are looking to invest their time in. I'm still here, I've said DHT is a decent company to work for. It just ain't as rosey as you paint. I've recommended my company to others before, but I was also honest with them on what to expect. And again, I really don't care what you do or who you are. I stated what I wanted to before this, so now I'm finished with you and your thread.

If you're not going to be receptive to help I'm not gonna help.. you gave two shots with help!

I paint a roses picture for people willing to work and quit crying for sitting. DHT gives enough mikes that YOU HAVE TI sit cause you're out of hours... I reset EVERY week. I'm out of hours!
I just sat for 2 days in calexico.. with 16 other trucks.. do I #####? No! I reset my hours, was paid layover and have fresh hours to run... I'm headed to Ga. by the time I get there, deadhead and make it back west... ILL BE OUT OF HOURS!!! Guess what, it will be Monday morning and I'll probably sit till Tuesday... AGAIN I'll get layover and reset my hours... I'll be out of hours anyway!

The problem is this company is t a company for a Lilly gaffer 8 hour a day driver. If you burn your 11 and drive 700 a day you R gonna make lots of money and lots of miles..

Well no one on here is claiming to make more than anyone...

But I have no problem saying there aren't many places a company solo driver will make $70k+ even their first year.

Take into account no chains and the. Set runs... it doesn't get much better,

Could you please recommend a better company for a recent grad that has a rider program?

I don't like what I read a few posts ago about having to leave the truck in Tennessee and Atlanta, as well as the info about having to remove my belongings from the truck just to have a couple days off.

On another note, would it be feasible to take the truck as far as Lompoc, CA in order to have "hometime" visiting extended family or is that too far from their stops in California?

That is absolutely for a long haul our company to make a driver do that.
