    2. What percentage of the line haul do they take?

    3. What is the average $/mile they make on the line haul and what is the average paid to the truck?

    4. Do they give you fuel surcharge or do they keep it?

    5. Do they give you the discounted fuel price, or do they keep it?

    Insurance is a concern, but not in my top five. I prefer a company that that provides bobtail insurance.

    Maintenance is only a concern if you are pulling company trailers. I want a company that maintains their equipment at least as well as I maintain my truck.
