It's essentially to cover the deductible for those that have collision coverage, yet screw the ones that drive cheap vehicles and don't pay for extra insurance.
I had an accident. the other vehicle have no insurance.

You did well under the circumstances. Kept your lane and slowed as the situation developed.ishcp and whoopNride Thank this.

@ishcp. If she truly didn't have insurance, Your insurance policy should have coverage for Uninsured Motorists and Underinsured Motorists, which is to cover a case like this.
As for the no fault BS, that is simply because the cops/state won't write anyone up at fault because they don't want to wind up in court. The no fault takes them completely out of the picture. I had a lady run a red light and broadside me, cops didn't/wouldn't write anyone up at fault. So her insurance denied the claim, my insurance fixed my pickup but I had to pay my deductible. BS!!! -
Can't he go to court with the clip?
Are there any damages done to the truck to justify going to court and have her cover them?
If not, better make sure this it is not reported that you are at fault on your MVR somehow. -
On January 2nd 1993 I had parked my car on the street in front of my apt. building and as I was getting out I was hit by someone who took off. Tore ligaments in my left knee and my car insurance paid for my surgery, therapy and lost wages thru uninsured/under-insured policy. I also "settled" for a tidy sum w/ help from my sister who works for an ambulance chaser. They are still my car insurance company.
My father paid house insurance for over 20 years and finally had to make a claim for roof storm damage. They sent him a check for about $600 something dollars and in another envelope was a cancellation notice! LOL! He was furious and called state attorney general but they said it was their right.
My surgery, lost wages and settlement was well over $20,000, go figure.whoopNride Thanks this. -
Most provinces in Canada are no fault also. Are you a broker for a company that provides insurance or self insures? or do you have your own policy? I was loading in OK in late 2012, pulled out of the dock, lots of room around me, beautiful sunny day, got out to close my trailer doors, and somehow a guy from OWL transport somehow thought it was a good idea to start blindsiding in beside me. I had left my door open and he peeled my door just about off. They found some rule that if you open your door into traffic (which I didnt) your at fault. I had to pay my deductible. The worst part was if I didn't yell at him he would have kept going and tore my hood off. At that point... it would have been his fault..... stupid insurance rules....

thank you all for the reply. /deep bow
I spoke to my company safety. she told me I need to get the estimated damage report from a shop. I cannot repair my truck until I got proved by the insurance.
she said if the money is less than 5000 I will not go through the insurance. my company seems don't want me to go through insurance. -
my insurance company refused to pay the loss of business. I have to find some help.

She means the deductable is 5 grand. Go get the repair quotes as she said. They dont want it to go through thier ins because they're lazy and cheap. So make sure your quotes are for a 1st class repair. Afaik ins is required in mi so get on the phone and see why that info isn't on the ticket. The cops will be able to track the car owner down. Your ins will go after her ins to pay your deductable as long as she was deemed at fault as others have said.
There's a reason people get buy down ins or will only work for companies that have low deductibles. Some companies have a 10g deductable. Crazy.
