Can the shift pattern be changed By putting on a different shift tower . Or do the gears on the countershafts have to be changed?

I sent this truck to votech I was told gears had to be changed. But the School said it may be able to be done with a shift tower . So I just wanted to see if someone had done it That way . Thanks Mike

If you change gears you change ratios. An rto has overdrive forward. An rtx has overdrive to the rear. The x top has an extra rail to reverse them. I have done it and seen it done countless times

Why would you do this or is it to avoid confusion. I remember the old 15 overs used to have overdrive forward but everyone got used to them.

Yes to avoid confusion. Some can't get used to the horse shoe pattern after driving an H pattern for so long. And vise versa of course

I farm and have 6 trucks and 5 drivers so they switch trucks often and if they don't shift the same The drivers sometimes complain. I don't mind it myself.
