Wanted to throw it out here for available dump trailer work. Have a 26' steel trailer(lightweight Hardox 450) sitting. My seasonal customers won't start until March. Plenty of salt hauling, I know, but have heard the horror stories on getting paid and cheap rates. Trailer is permitted for 104,000 in MA and RI with high lift gate and regular tailgate. Was looking at WL French, but seems most of their trailers are longer tri axles. Anyone chime in??

Probably bc they go to New Hampshire. From what I understand you need a lot more trailer wheelbase to scale weight up there- like 39' triaxle for 107k if memory serves.

NH just changed their laws you need 38 foot on 6 axles to get 99k, 26' is definatly a MA or RI trailer, although you can get a 90k permit for VT.

5 axles in NY is 102, 6 is 107, and 7 axles will get you 117.

    tbdieseltrucking and Ruthless Thank this.

Might need a 30' trailer in NY for overweight I don't quite remember their formula, I know my 40' spread is 102, you can get an annual permit for 90 on 5 or 99 on 6. I have both

Looked at the formula on their website. Based on quick calculations, I believe the unit qualifies for 102. Don't run NY much with a dump, mostly flatbed. MA and RI, my permits are for 103980, and 104800. My tractor has the wheelbase(260), heck it's longer than my 26' dump.

Depends on who you haul for, 99 is the limit and some places won't let you leave over but it's 4% if you "don't have a scale ticket" (which we never do)
