Any load, that entails, 'fish,' and rests on 'ice', make sure you get the total weight, including 'the ice', that alotta these stewpid warehouse idiots, including management who don't have a clue as to: "How much the Ice Weighs" you could have a 'max-xed out load' and be carrying the extra, even though, you've given them the 3rd degree, about it. I've driven loads on different occasion # 15,000+ pounds over their BOL 'estimated weight' 3000lbs over the 'drives' and 'tail'.

Winding up being sent back to those same warehouses, that have perfected their image of 'over-loading'..

I always show back up with a empty/pre-load weight attachment and let them know they'll be billed extra.

Also, be aware of the total pallet weight.

I scale every load, even the 7000 pound ones. Paranoia keeps me safe.

These types of situations only are their based 'profit-maximization' based upon 'Company Drivers' who don't realize what their own-co-working-dispatches have in-store for them, for the most part- the disnatches- don't know how to drive, little lone what the max 'trailer weight' is, they only see the commission, and will look forward to chewing into you; if you wind up being fined. They are as worthless as the scum-inbreding-family they come from, disnatches are an 'allusion' to doing clean business, as long as they're the ones turning a profit who cares, that you're dealing with the parking lot b.s. or co-ordinance, to backing up to a dock, just as long as they making a percentage% off of you.

All the meanwhile you'd think being able to collect off of the company[ies] who so 'randomly' over-load you, would be willing to make up the difference, I think this entails a necessary rapport, that even if the bastages- won't let you on the dock?

Let them know that they are comparable to those of 'paedophiles' who should be locked up in a 'P.C. Ward' (where they're kept safe from the rest of the G.P.) and see what happens next, most of the time, they'll squeem n' squirrel, but that's what Truck Drivers are for, is killing time and making sure the load gets there on time.. N' making warehouse staff, know who's the 'f-in' BOSS!

Pallets-smallets, Insurance-smurferance.. LET'S ######## KNOW WHO BOSS< N' LET OTHERS AROUND YOU KNOW THAT THEY ARE AWARE OF THE PREMISES THEY'RE STANDING ON...
Then, generally, things start gettin' done!

To me it doesn't matter if you're a 'company or lease op.' some of these upper-management, need to be told where, to go, and what the he77 to do sometimes, cuz, they are every much as part of the picture and can just as easily screw up with their b.s. 'micro-managment'..

Just this summer I had someone driving my truck with a delivery time, he was a couple hours late showing up with-
    "Safeway Nature Brand®™" Bagels.
, (Canada Day long-weekend) the fill-in staff at the warehouse, tell him to come back the next day, with the goods, (Oh, really, Larry they're having 'Computer Problems', okay listen to me- get my trailer as far away from the Warehouse, as you possibly can, 'No, Larry, no I don't know the guys who you're dealing with, they're not open tomorrow, listen to me, get the Trailer away from there, and keep it away.. They're rescheduling, you, for Sat.? they're not open, leave and don't go back until Monday..!'

Anyhow, the moron, didn't listen to me, the 'Union' fill-in staff, con's my driver Larry- into coming back, he leaves the trailer there- at Safeway's Staff's assured-discretion, (on Sat.) apparently by the end of the weekend and early morning, Monday, June, 30th, the Reefer's out of fuel.. ?

And now... I'm on the hook for 18,000.. or I was, becuz, I went to the RCMP, it took sometime to convince the warehouse to accept the load.. I was never paid for the load.

I do agree that they should rework the the load. But, I have seen several drivers back to get reworked because they wont slide their fifth wheel or tandems because of the ride. In that case I dont blame a shipper for telling them to get bent and ride.

Had that situation take place today. I got a load of pipe and checked my scales for axle weight. My drivers had 12K on them and my trailer axles both had 20K so I shifted the fifth wheel and I got 17.5 on them. I went back and asked the load crew to fix the load by unloading the pipe and then let me slide the fifth wheel back all the way and then reload. They said they couldn't do that they said why don't slide the fifth wheel forward more to even the load.
I pointed out that my pogo stick and my lines were 6" away from the pipe as it was and they wanted me get closer?

I wound up removing the mounts and dropping my lines.
Yeah, they enforce safety rules, have me sign agreements, and have me name them as "Additional Insured" but they won't re-adjust a load.
    It's all "about" them. :biggrin_25516:
