I've been thoroughly looking for the right company to start with and from tons of recruiters, multiple phone calls and research I'm still a little confused....Can anyone explain how the pay is calculated? I've talked to quite a few companies that tell me i will gross 1000 to 1200 a week i mean alot BUT when i crunch the numbers on the cpm vs miles i drive a week (average 2500) it never comes up to their figure. Like .33cpm to .38cpm is still around 6 to 800$ or so weekly so where are they getting 1000 to 1200$ from? Heard these numbers from Roehl Transport, Watkins & Shepard, US Xpress, etc etc. Trying to find a real company where i can actually gross at least 50k in my first year.

.38 cpm at 2500 is almost but not quite 1000 a week.
Understand that they will never give you real numbers, and you will not average 2500 miles a week with a lot of beginner companies.tscottme, Big Don and Pontimaniac Thank this. -
Tarp pay, stop pay, idle bonus, mpg bonus, on time bonus.....
akfisher, Big Don, SingingWolf and 1 other person Thank this. -
Ah i got the tarp pay, stop pay section. I was thinking if it was a dry van type of delivery or something. None of those mentioned carriers said anything about stop pay or anything. Didn't know they could include "maybe" bonuses as a form of a guaranteed weekly check kind of thing.

They will say just about anything to get you in the door. "Some" have a guaranteed base. But be skeptical.diesel drinker, Big Don and Pontimaniac Thank this.

Ahh i gotcha. So basically if the cpm don't match the miles you drive a week on they're weekly pay scale those bonus incentives are included with the mix to make up the difference?

Kinda.....
(Now you understand why we say, be skeptical)Pontimaniac Thanks this. -
Roehl is the only one I'd even give a little credibility to. Watkins is Schneider = LIARS. U.S.E. = LIARS.
Pontimaniac Thanks this. -
The only guarantee in Truckin is you will be screwed on a regular basis. Kinda like a where's Waldo. Somehow you are getting lied too, Screwed, or cheated out of something. And if you think you aren't, They are better at hiding it than you are of finding it.
Boattlebot, DTP, diesel drinker and 3 others Thank this. -
Ok that narrows it down a bit then. Roehl were the ones that mentioned i would be making about 1100$ a week but yet they said i would start out @33cpm and only drive 2000 to 2200 miles a week. Numbers just didn't match to me but heard good things about them from researching them. Kinda stuck between Roehl, NTB Trucking, and TMC now as my top 3 picks. Just want someone to actually be truthful about they're pay for a change.
