Bad advice. Very bad. We have a system in this country and we have the right to fight tickets even if we were in the wrong. Use the system. Only dummies pay the fine and accept the ticket out of some kind of guilt . tickets will affect your personal vehicle insurance for years with higher premiums as well as that next good job you may want.

You need an attourney, This is a commrical citation as indicated by the voilation number, You were basicly written for speeding, this section has a wide coverage, but excessive speed is one.

I have only seen community service for a traffic ticket once. In a small village court where the driver was a young, somewhat slow, very poor kid who everyone knew. The fine would have been more than his vehicle was worth and more than he would make in a month.

As I said, I am not familiar with the way Mass. does things. That is what you get when you hire an attorney: Knowledge, experience and connections in the field of law.

That costs money, but you may be able to get a consult on the ticket for free if you call a local lawyer and tell them you are trying to decide whether to fight a ticket or not. Make sure you tell them you have a CDL and drive for work.

Good question. It is funny to watch people going nuclear over a $20 ticket though. And if you are worried about your employer with this kind of ticket you probably work for a bad carrier.

I have no idea he needs to talk to an attorney. Mine was reduced to equipment violation. Equipment violation.

That's where people get confused. Doesn't matter if the ticket was $1 its the long lasting impact some of these tickets have that needs to be recognized. I spoke with a driver just yesterday that claims his personal vehicle insurance premiums were raised 400 a year over a speeding ticket in a CMV. I bet they will stay elevated for 3 years. Its not a big deal to hire an attorney. The attorney will likely reach some kind of deal with the traffic prosecutor and you will never step foot in a court room or loose a days work. I personally don't want to be explaining a speeding ticket 3 or 5 years from now to that next good job I may be applying to.

What was you originally charged for?Speeding and equipment violation,I don't see the connection. What exactly does that mean in your case?

Your correct there is no connection, its just a money game in most cases. From a speeding ticket to a equipment violation cost me much more than just initially paying the ticket. But I looked at it long term ,a non moving violation will have zero effect on my personal insurance which is bundled with my homeowners ins. And I want my cdl as clean as humanly possible its how I make my living.
