Hey guys, thanks so much for the tips!

I wanted to go ahead and leave an update on this in case somebody else sees it or it appears in a search. I spoke with Millis Transfer and they do not hire out of Florida.

Who did you speak to? That is kind of strange, you are close to their Georgia Terminal..However I understand because they don't have a ton of freight going in and it is difficult to get a backhaul. Go with Jim Palmer, Call and talk to Ellen she will get you squared away

That's partially true RE Prime, that is if you get a Light Weight Truck, just mention to them you are thinking about training or want to take family along with you and they will give you a FULL SIZE Truck so should be able to get regular fridge in there

Moeller Trucking out of central Florida does only FL-California reefer runs with teams. They say you need two years experience but they might make an exception. Also, Schneider would hire you for training in Atlanta. They have a yard in Orlando so that might work out well for you.

Thought the Great Pumpkin got out of training. I called them while back and recruiter told me they no longer offered schooling, but you could go to a school your self and once you got CDL they would hire you?

Yes, that's what I meant. She would have to get her CDL on her own then receive three weeks of training in Atlanta.

Schneider only has one cdl school and it's in Gary, Indiana. You have to live in a narrow hiring area to qualify though.

OP, have you considered a WIA grant for CDL school? You don't want to be tied down to a company if you don't have to be.

Did you check with Roehl Transport? They don't have APU though; Jim Palmer and Prime do have APU.
