Calling out to all my Brothers and Sisters in the United States Trucking Industry.

The most important job in our country is Truck Driver. I am starting a movement and I need your pledge.
We need to stop the flow of goods and services. All drivers need to take a stand against the low pay we receive from the corporate Giants that run the United States Trucking Industry. We put our lives on the line daily for very little compensation. We need to organize ourselves and create a new industry standard we can live with. Stop the wheels from turning
Think about this industry and how the corporate Giants want to replace the human driver with a Automous truck, a robot to drive a truck to save the money they would have to pay a human driver. Spread the word, the time has come for CHANGE.

History shows, in other industries (service, agriculture, construction), that the white shirts won't pay more; they'll just say that it's (trucking) a job that Americans won't do. Low pay to one man/woman is high pay to another. Make a million and still be broke. It's not what we earn it's what we save. Earn more? Spend less? Hmmm....

Have to try. To many jobs in our country are being underpaid. Why do we pay our Doctor and Nurse's fair pay for their job experience but not the truck drivers? Simply most truck drivers are not educated. So the system has taken advantage of this fact.

Supply and demand. A quarter back, doctor, nurse or trucker is paid in proportion to their skill set. Higher skill sets are more rare thus demand (bid) is higher. Truckers with multiple endorsements (hazmat, tanker, doubles, triples [only one in the area]), owner operators and fleet owners (2+ trucks) have put themselves directly in the money stream. Company drivers with no endorsements have not - yet. Dis a bizniss! Business 101. We must continually build upon our skill set and, since it IS about the money, increase our trucking business acumen. You're right about the lack of knowledge but the knowledge is all around us. Just takes the right attitude, passion and desire to soak it in.

Since 2006, OOIDA has presented educational classes for the small business owner and the professional truck driver. It has been OOIDA’s continual mission to fight for the rights of all truckers through research and education. http://www.ooidaonlineeducation.com/

Good luck with that....... you can't get two drivers to agree on the price of a free cup of coffee

You can't get drivers to say NO to cheap freight. What's makes you think you can get them to stop driving? If I don't like the rate, I won't haul the freight. The ones doing the most whining are the same ones hauling $1.5 loads. Just learn to say no.

It'll never happen, too many dumb O/Os pulling cheap crap that will lose everything if they shut down for a few days, and too many dumb company drivers that are perfectly happy making peanuts to stay gone for months at a time..

To much talk of it's never going to happen. Of course it'll never happen with that mentality. Change will not come instantly but we need progress. We have let this industry become a joke. Prices are being offered with NO sense of reasoning. Not only are prices cheap but beyond our cost of operation. I understand that there is a lack of freight available, but that doesn't mean you work for free just to work. Please, I'm begging everyone, take action, even if it's just you. Let them take cheap rates and get weeded out in a couple of years, but those of us who are committed, let's take a stand. From Los Angeles CA, I pledge to strike!

A strike would be a wet dream for a hauler who's hauls "cheap Freight". While those of us who have good hauling freight, if we honored a strike, you know "Joe at Jacked your Freight for Cheap" will keep rolling.
