Arko exchange located in grand rapids michigan is extremely dangerous to work for. My fellow drivers this company will steal your money and literally yell and cuss you if you don't drive illegal 100% of the time. This company has an owner and dispatchers who will threaten violence , as I do have text messages from all of them with these threats. I was on sometime for 8 hours they wanted me to take a load to California, I said no I am home I don't leave for 2 days after being out for 8 weeks. After I didn't run their load they **adis the dispatcher** mujo the owner**Chad head giving safety boy** all threatend to harm me. This place is owned by a foreign Bosnian guy who thinks he's above the law. If you enjoy being treated in this manner no miles no money illegal unsafe driving and practices then by all means come work here. My advice, stay away from here, smooth talkers but fast to turn into snakes, but what else should we expect from aliens residing in our great country.

Yep, if a driver is being treated that way because they won't break the law, then the thing to do is present all the evidense to the proper authorities. That's the best payback.

    I side with you because.......
You need to AVOID this company like you would the PLAGUE. This company is plain no good, and they will lie to you while looking you in your eyes. They will try to convince you that this is a perfect job because their turnover rate is sky high and most decent drivers’ ends up quitting within a few weeks because they are treated so very badly. They will not tell drivers before drivers come aboard that they keep a $1,500 Escrow from all drivers’ and most drivers’ never get it back from them because they do everything it can to get drivers’ to quit which forfeits the Escrow. They fine drivers’ quite heavily for not working more than 90 days and also fine drivers’ quite heavily for leaving and not providing them with a 14 day notice of resignation; no matter how badly the drivers’ are treated. They do own late model trucks, but they are extremely bad in maintaining them like they should. This leads to breakdowns and time spent broken down on the side of roads or at shops that drivers could be using in running and earning money. Most of the trailers are late 2013 and drivers’ drop them in their yard in need of repairs. The last trailer that I pulled ended up costing me 15 hours of downtime for free. Their FMCSA Safety Record is quite intense and their complete disregards in hiring safe and decent drivers’ are clearly shown within this report. Dispatch is dreadful and they enjoy giving decent drivers’ very short mile loads because they make decent money pulling these loads. In addition, drivers’ do not get compensated for the first 50 miles of deadhead. They do not care about their drivers’ and it clearly showed upon my second week with them. They wanted me to pull a 148 mile load that would have taken a full day to complete for a little over $62, and I refused to pull it because that’s not the arrangement that was made before me coming aboard with them. Times got pretty bad from the beginning of my second week with them to the end of my third week with them before I quit, such as running 800 miles in 3 days, 5 days to run 2040 miles, and them trying to get me to do a 289 mile load and two stops which would have made me $146 dollars and taken a full day to complete. At this point, I had enough of their nonsense and asked them to treat me fairly for a change in sending me back to their yard. They did send me back to the yard without mentioning anything else with me and then they charged me close to $900 for bringing me back to the yard. I was well under 300 miles from their yard and I gave them my two weeks’ notice two weeks prior to them doing this to me. They had no intentions of getting me back to their yard, but to keep me away from their yard and my home, while mistreating me to all limits. They will probably keep my Escrow because that’s how this company works. They abuse their drivers in lying to them to get drivers’ to come aboard and then abuse them in every which way possible to make them quit and charge them to high limits in keeping drivers’ hard earned money because its extra income to this very slimy and shaky company . Again, you need to Avoid them like you would the Plague.

Reading most of these comments are absolutely ridiculous. I have been a driver for Arko Exchange out of Grand Rapids for 6 years (Arka has no affiliation and is not a sister company). For starters they don't steal money and the dispatchers will not cuss at you because the owner is strict about proper communication. I highly doubt they ever texted you anything as bad as you are saying unless you did something absolutely absurd. "After I didn't run their load they **adis the dispatcher** mujo the owner**Chad head giving safety boy** all threatend to harm me." If someone threatened to harm you and you supposedly had picture proof how come you never made a police report? I feel like a police report is way more effective than a post on a forums page. "If you enjoy being treated in this manner no miles no money illegal unsafe driving and practices then by all means come work here." I am consistently getting 3500-4000 miles a week (I stay out 2-3 months at a time as I do travel the world with my wife). I can definitely say I am 100% happy with the way I am spoke to, they gave me a new truck and trailer, they give me great miles, pay every week, they pay everything on time including detention. They payed me all my promised sign on bonuses and always brought me home on time. Oh and this comment you made "but what else should we expect from aliens residing in our great country." Clearly you are uneducated and really not up to date. Foreigners are the reason we have such a well established and diverse nation with business ranging in all varieties. Stop being racist.

    Next MeanDogg99,
You also made a few comments I would like to address on behalf of this company.
"decent drivers’ ends up quitting within a few weeks because they are treated so very badly." Not true at all. I still communicate with the same 17 drivers who have been working at this company for years. 9 of them started the same year as me or before. The rest have been here for about 1-3 years. So I don;'t necessarily agree with your false and poorly backed up statement with no proof.
"they keep a $1,500 Escrow from all drivers’ and most drivers’ never get it back from them because they do everything it can to get drivers’ to quit which forfeits the Escrow."
Nope not true as well. They have the same policy as any other trucking company that I personally know. First of all escrow here is $1000.00, I bet you didn't know that because you actually never read the agreement that you signed, also they return escrow after 30 days to the driver. All you have to do is put your two weeks in, return the equipment to the headquarters and you will get your money, but like I mentioned you probably never took the time to read that over.
" They do own late model trucks, but they are extremely bad in maintaining them like they should."
All equipment is 2015 and newer. Also once again poorly backed up statement you are making. As a driver you should also monitor when maintenance is needed it's our responsibility as drivers. Secondly I am consistently reminded about maintenance and whenever I report a problem to them they send me to a shop first thing. Maybe you just don't know how to report a problem to your employer bud.
"Their FMCSA Safety Record is quite intense and their complete disregards in hiring safe and decent drivers’ are clearly shown within this report"
Once again, you make another statement that you clearly have no idea about. I just looked up the company and they are rated satisfactory!!! What the hell are you talking about???
"drivers’ do not get compensated for the first 50 miles of deadhead."
Congratulations you just identified a policy held by thousands of OTR Transportation companies.

"They did send me back to the yard without mentioning anything else with me and then they charged me close to $900 for bringing me back to the yard. I was well under 300 miles from their yard and I gave them my two weeks’ notice two weeks prior to them doing this to me. They had no intentions of getting me back to their yard, but to keep me away from their yard and my home"
Did you maybe read what you were typing or?
So they sent you back to the yard to charge you $900... Makes sense?
Then you say "They had no intentions of getting me back to their yard, but to keep me away from their yard and my home"
So which is it? What are you exactly trying to say??? If you were quitting and put your two weeks in, I highly doubt they would risk their company equipment with you by not returning you on time for your two weeks. It just doesn't make any sense.

"They abuse their drivers in lying to them to get drivers’ to come aboard and then abuse them in every which way possible to make them quit and charge them to high limits in keeping drivers’ hard earned money because its extra income to this very slimy and shaky company . Again, you need to Avoid them like you would the Plague."

If they are so bad and they are consistently charging your hard earned money and you feel its unfair why don't you just sue them? Can you for maybe a second think about what YOU have done?

I am not saying this is the best company in the world, however; they are #### sure a great company. In the 6 years I worked here I had only 2 complaints and that was with Adis the dispatcher that was previously mentioned. I talked to the owner who by the way is an outstanding citizen even though he is from a foreign country. He the same day fired Adis after I presented some evidence about his poor behavior.

I am more than happy to talk to anyone about this company and prove to you guys they are not the company the members on this forums are try portraying them as. If you even want to be convinced further... I have the phone number to almost 20 drivers at this company who can also back up my statements. All of these drivers have also been here for a minimum of 1 year. So they have been around I would say long enough to get their own strong opinion about the company.
