Children Among Four Dead in School Bus Crash in Indiana

LOGANSPORT, Ind. A school bus carrying special-needs students collided with two dump trucks in rural northern Indiana on Friday and killed four of the five people aboard, including children, police said.
"The victims are everywhere," said Cass County Coroner Gene Powlen.
The bus belonged to the Twin Lakes School Corp. in Monticello, according to the Logansport Pharos-Tribune. The driver was the only survivor on the bus and was flown to a hospital in Indianapolis, 70 miles to the south.
The two dump truck drivers were not injured, the newspaper said.
The crash occurred at the intersection of two U.S. highways, said 1st Sgt. Dave Bursten of the Indiana State Police.
"There are multiple fatalities, and it does involve a school bus and schoolchildren aboard the bus," Bursten said.

The collision comes just days after police said a tractor-trailer driver on his cell phone hit a school bus in Florida, killing a 13-year-old girl.

We need to be careful out there, not only for the sake of others, but also to prevent the reactionary enforcement and legislation that tends to follow these kinds of incidents.

Yes this is the stuff that drives thoose folks to think they should tell us what ad how to do it and know nothing. Still this is another story that shows trucking in a very bad light... not enuff info in the story to claim exactly who was at fault but it really doesn't matter.

I jsut read an update on Yahoo that said the 1st dump was slowing for a car in front of him and swerved into the bus and flipped it, and the 2nd dump center punched the bus's roof.....ouch....
