I pull reefer, don't go west of denver co,
Done an inframe, turbo, all the EGR, at detroit dealer think there is an electrical problem, spend 3 weeks and $15k in freightliner in Tucson got truck back in the same condition. I'm getting 4.7 miles on gallon in it.

 

What type of work have you done on the truck to spend 100k in 2 years? I have an 03 Columbia with a Detroit S60 and I spent about 12k on it last year. That's new brakes all around, new tires, new shocks, rebuilt drivelines, new steering box, new radiator, and new turbo. Haven't done an inframe yet but that will be 10-15k. I'll also need to rebuild one of my axles and got quoted $2500.

Either you've been getting super unlucky or someone's installing cheap parts on your truck that keep breaking. 100k is what guys with DPF and DEF problems spend on their trucks.

 

I also have EGR which you don't have in your 03

 

Overhaul $19000
ECM around $5000 plus towing
Clutch $5000 plus towing
Electrical issues $15000
Turbo plus manifold $4500 (twice once at cheaper shop and once at detroit )
Head $4000 (twice once on warranty in 3k miles after the overhaul and once for cash just after the warranty was up)
Rear structure oil leak (just after the clutch at freightliner, they didn't bother to let me know that it wasn't main seal leak it was the bellhousing ) $2500
Plus all small stuff like both suspensions, radiator, ac, u joins, etc

 

That's true. I did a delete on my 05 and it's been great since. But did the EGR give you all that trouble?

 

2 heads in 15k miles cracking 1 in 3000 miles after inframe , it's ether EGR or wiring and truck never run wright

 

Where are you getting this work done?

 

@superTrucker77 ...I think you going to the wrong shops...even if they are dealers

 

Delete you mean replace manefold and turbo with older or how did you get a ride of it?
