I need 4 tires on one of my trucks. I bought it with 4 Hercules recaps and 4 #### tires. I decided to run the Hercules until they blew or got worn out and get 4 cheap tires for the other axle until I saved up for better ones. Paid $800 total for some cheap Chinese crap and 80k miles later, 2 are almost done. Surprisingly the Hercules are wearing very slowly and evenly. I'd guess they have at least another 50k left if they don't blow.
Anyways, I'm looking for a decent set of tires but not sure what to buy or how to research. Every tire place I call will recommend their prefered model and claim they're "as good as Michelins". I don't want to buy cheap crap anymore but also not trying to spend $500+ per tire.
Any recommendations? I usually do mix of local and round trips of 1000 miles or less. I'll do big cross country trips a few times a year though. I'm thinking a closed shoulder tire would be the best for me. I pull flatbed and mostly stay on paved roads.
Looking for a decent all around closed shoulder tire.

I installed 8 new on my KW and noticed they were causing a slight vibration, after they started to wear i noticed they were worn more in the 12 o clock position "egg shaped"
I removed them and replaced with Hancook tires.
