So how exactly does one clear the snow from the top of a 13'6" trailer? Will we be required to carry ladders and snow shovels now?

Easy, don't go to New Jersey in the winter.:biggrin_255:

But, didn't Pennsylvania also pass this law?

I thought there was another one as well.

Not without some way to tie off your safety harness or OSHA will be all over your butt. :biggrin_255:

Watch insurance go up, forcing carriers to increase their rates, forcing the price of goods to go up. Watch for news stories about truckers getting killed doing this stuff soon. Not me. They'll just have to give me a ticket.

PA has had it for awhile, they just started enforcing more over the past several winters...

It is impossible to keep snow of a trailer.. It is impossible for a driver or a company to make sure the trl is clean.. You could take it to a truck wash and have them clean it but not many of those in NJ for one.. Next if you park for the night and it snows your back to square one.. It is a law that is not practical when it comes to trucks...

Sometimes when we are waiting for paper work and we know that takes awhile sometimes, it can be done as part of a pre-trip.:yes2557:

Yeah, that'll happen. :biggrin_25511: Some of the drivers out here have major problems navigating 2 steps to make it behind the wheel, can you imagine having to climb onto the trailer and shovel snow?:biggrin_2554:
