Have you guys seen or read about the new well I don't know how new it actually is I just read about it yesterday the cobra 29 LX Max. It's a smart CB you can take phone calls make phone calls receive text messages send text messages through voice command obviously. It also has the updated bells and whistles that many have. Give you the weather alerts oh and also has a police scanner feature and it has the Bluetooth available. Retails for 199 and of course you got the color backlight I believe it's red Amber blue and green. I was trying to find more info on this particular model but everything I come across is reworded differently and I've already read it. I was wondering if anyone's using this model and if so what do you think of it.? Or if anyone has heard anything about this model besides the normal chatter about about it I'd really like to hear would anyone knows. Thanks in advance

Been around for a few years. Personally, I feel it's just that much more to go wrong that not all CB techs can fix.

Just checked it out, good looking radio IMO as always from Cobra. No way I'd ever buy one, as stated above, there's way to much to go wrong, when that LCD goes out you no longer have a radio. At least on a standard when the channel read-out goes bad it's usually just only a partial digit. The standard parts such as the analog SWR meter and digital channel read-out are plentiful and easily replaced.

Still has the worthless Delta tune, they could make that a variable power control. You talk about distracted driving, naming it max was apropriate, some of these drivers out here dont need a radio with that many functions they need to use a basic cobra 25 and concentrate on the road.

Someone on youtube did a review on this radio..From part of the vid i saw its not all that and a bag of chips after all..
All that fancy stuff it does, well its just done through apps on your smart phone with your phone linked to the radio..

My boss bought a bunch of these, and is handin 'em out to anyone in in the co. that wants one. Main reason is, several drivers have got caught with their phone to their ear. The phone app works pretty well I guess. They're nothing spectacular as a cb, sound ok on air..same 'ol same 'ol.. The guys at work like 'em ok, but I've not used one, and probably wont, im just not in to this new tech stuff.

They got caught talking on their phone while driving and they still have a job. Last time I checked its $ 2750.00 fine to the driver and possibly up to $ 10,000 fine to the company, if we get caught its automatic termination no questions asked.

I tried one, didn't care for it. It needs constant power so it doesn't forget your settings. People couldn't hear me very well using it for a phone call. I'm not surprised or impressed with cobra microphones.
