Work the industry for a couple years as a company driver then make that decision. You have not even gone solo 1 day and having dreams of fancy. This will lead down the wrong path.
Prime's lease deal. The math gets done.

^^What he said^^
Get your experience as a company driver, maybe for a year or so, before considering a lease. -
Put some time in, at least 6 months, keep track of everuthhing to compare.
-
For the first 6 months keep track of your trips. Re-run the numbers on those trips as if you were leasing and see if the grass is greener and make up your own mind. I too know of successful L/Os at Prime, but they have their ducks in a row and are not typical company type drivers.
BigHossVolvo and redoctober83 Thank this. -
How to do that when company drivers get paid cpm? There is no way to know how much the load is paying. Declining to even get into the hot mess that is their optimized fueling based on fuel contracts.
-
keep track of cost, fuel, tires, service, etc...
-
Thanks for the input. Like I said, I plan on going company at least at first. Just trying to gather information and weigh my options. Plus I have a lot more time to think about this stuff than I'm used to.redoctober83 Thanks this.

I'm just getting up and starting my day, give me about an hour or so and I'll answer these questions. I just bought my lease truck out last week one year before the lease was up. It made sense to do the early buyout option right when it opens, you end up saving $23k if you don't wait until the end of the lease.
Anyways, I'll go into more detail, have to go for a run and breakfast first before my day gets away from me like it's already looking like
BigHossVolvo and Lonesome Thank this. -
And just because....

Slightly off topic but does Prime run Washington state/PNW?
