Which GPS pgm and wireless internet are best?

I think that sprint offers the best deal on the bradband internet card they have a true unlimited plan not like the others that have a hidden limits.

Some guys use delorme and just double check your route for restictions.

There are some gps programs for truckers but they are verry expensive for someone just starting out.

I would recomend buying the least expensive program that has gps and just doubkle check the routes with a truckers atlas.

You can pick up delorme lt-20 gps for about 69.99-100.00 depending on were you pick it up at.

I paid 100.00 for delorme but that was at an office supply store that I have a charge account at.

Since you will probaly have broadband internet it is allways on and if you only want driving directions you can use mapquest for them just double check the directions against the atlas.

 

Those trucker GPS' are really expensive - we looked at them in Lousiville at the truck show - wholly cow!! He came home and bought a Magellan, he likes it, really helps with his ETA's. Your right, he uses it and double checks the book, if your not careful you'll end up on a road your not suppose to be - also you need to make sure you have exact address' or you could end up at someone's house!

Personally I use on my PC both Microsoft street and trips GPS less than $80 in the store and I have Co-PILOT ($299) which I use when running the Northeast because of trucking restrictions. As far as WIFI goes I don't use it anymore. The truck stops usually sell it 3.95- 4.99 per day or $30 a month. Trick stop by motels that have WIFI most are unsecure and you can tap into it for free from their truck parking area. I actually have Sprint now and use their Phone as Modem service. Costs $40 a month but I can access the internet wherever I am rather than just at a truck stop.
WARNING: BE CAREFUL OF MAPQUEST. they dont take any truck restrictions into account.

 

Garmin makes good gps systems.i have one and it does the trick.as far as internet goes,i really couldnt tell you since im not an internet guy as far as going wireless
