I drove a semi through Farmville,Va (I think it was Farmville, but may be in N. or S. Carolina)back in
1993 or so- making a delivery to an auto parts plant.
I think they made rigid fabric interiors for cars.
Anyway- on my way driving east- I saw
a bunch of trucks stopped at a restaurant, on the left, that
advertised "best chicken in the country" or something
like that.
Inside- the place was set up just like an Army
mess hall. You got in line; filled up an oblong metal
plate with dividers in it. The waiters were all young
men with "whitewall" haircuts. They stood at attention
at the corner of the room,- serving water, cleaning
up, etc.
The okra there was fantastic. The best vegtable I've
ever had.
I'm quite sure it was in Farmville, but I may be
wrong.
Anyone know what place I'm talking about?
Mike
I want to find this restaurant again!
