Thanks. I'm not used to having someone else dispatch me, but I guess I could get used to it if we are on the same page of music. I'll have to ask a couple of the guys on tanks if I ever see any and try to get some input from them.

 

I'm running an '07 KW. The general idea is if you've owned it for a while already, they let you lease it on no matter the age (within reason). If you're looking to buy a truck and lease on though they'll be less receptive of an older truck. The reasoning behind this is just for upkeep/maintenance. If you've been running a truck for a while with no more than the usual fusses, they won't have a problem vs both you and them taking a chance on an old used truck that neither of you have any history with.

 

Standard hometime for tanks is every 14 days or so. Some guys get to go home more often if they live in the good lanes. For example, I "could" be home every week if I wanted since I live right off 40 in western AR. But since I'm looking to move back out west to CO or WY this year, the honest answer I've gotten was about every three weeks to get out there, but no more than that. The closer you live to the edge of the hiring map, the longer your average out time will be. As far as WI being a bad area, I cannot say. I haven't been there yet, but I know we do go there.

 

A guy that was in orientation with us had a 01 volvo he has owned it about 6 months

 

I can tell you won't like working for oakley. Its a company job with a truck payment. If the load goes to PA you go if the next load goes to GA you go. IT is mileage pay not non force dispatch. You have very little say where you go.

 

Why put that on a credit card and pay interest when you could just make payments to Oakley Interest free? Use that credit card for breakdowns on the road. No reason to pay interest if you don't have to.

 

2 years OTR

 

So they're sticking too the 2 yr OTR requirement. What exactly did they tell you. I haven't spoken with them yet. I'm in the same boat as you no recent OTR.

 

Not to hijack this thread but A&R pays bout the same to pull a tank and think there exp is a little lighter autumn as well the a&r o/o I spoke to in Texas was very happy

 

I'll look into them thanks. Also looking at Trimac really wanting to get into dry bulk been doing bulk liquid for 9 years and its gotten kind of old.
