Before I was a trucker I didn't know alot of what I know now.
In fact I feel really stupid to even have thought some of the stuff I did before lol.
Before I was a trucker I didn't know that trucks and trailers came apart!
I thought I'd have a 34 restart EVERY WEEK.
What silly things did you not know before trucking that you are like duh about now?

I thought there were alot of different trailer types because I saw alot of different wheelbases on trailers. Then I found out you could move the trailer tandems.

I had always thought it was a somewhat easy life and you could make some big money.
I guess being the daughter and grandaughter of drivers/diesel mechanics and owners they kept the worries hidden or either loved it so much that it just didn't bother them. At one point and time my biological father and his father, my grandfather owned a fleet of 17 trucks (They eventually leased out to Brown's Trucking and later Transus out of Savannah, GA.), a public truck shop where they worked on their own trucks and others and drove when they had time. To have met them, you would have thought they had no worries in the world. The only complaint about trucks you would ever hear about was getting it fixed ond back on the road. -
I always thought there were lot lizards at every truck stop. I've been out here for almost 9 months and still haven't seen one.
