A few questions for people who have recently been through the CDL school for Roehl.
Where is the CDL training?
How is the hotel?
Do they buy bus or plane ticket or pay rental car?
Is the training a large class or small?
Thanks in advance!

They have two places. Marshfield Wisconsin and Gary Indiana. The motel is OK at Marshfield.. it has a pool, etc. The rooms are kind of small and you have to share a room with one other driver. There was 8 in my class before I got sent home. They pay for bus ticket or rental car ( they let me choose) and provided bus ticket home. They are really professional and understanding. They also paid for DOT physical. Oh, about the rental car... If you go that route, you have to buy fuel and pay for tolls, but that is all reimbursed back to you a week later.

Their physical is kinda hard.. a lot of balance and strength. I couldn't do the three point of contact and climb up on a simulated flat bed with only one step and one knee. They sent me home but said I could come back once I thought I could pass that part of the physical. Ended up going to a local CDL school and started working with Werner.

They also have training in Appleton WI....Comfort Suites is nice. The first time I went there, there were 6 of us split into 2 groups. Only 3 per truck.SESteve83 Thanks this.

Back in 2014 you had to squat under the trailer for awhile, use the step step kneel kneel to get up in/on the trailer. Lift a duffel bag over your head....pretty much everything that is in the videos. it's pretty easy, just don't get all to worked up about it...its not hard. Had a guy in our group that was up around 260lbs and made it.

Training is awesome. If you have an option, go to Appleton. All trainers there are great. The trainer you hope to get is Keith, this guy makes the training fun I'll tell you what. He takes safety very serious but you'll learn a great deal to doing things right and doing it safe. Good luck!

Any of you guys still with roehl?

No. But its a great starting company but if you can hang in there I would finish the contract before going somewhere else.
