And again, what I heard may just be trucker tales or the result of one stupid and ignorant DOT cop. But when I was driving a tow truck I was taught that that was not to be considered two separate tie downs.Crusader66 Thanks this. -

And I just read the regs yesterday regarding securing cars/equipment. Closed loops made with a single chain count as two direct tiedowns.
Oh yes, and I can't remember who I was talking to about this, @x1Heavy or @cnsper maybe? But I took a picture to prove it:
