    Ok, that's just one of the funniest bits I've read in quite some time. Snow snakes? Indeed!

    Are you talking about the front engine cover gasket? Man that's a job. Remind me, what engine do you got in that truck?

    Broke Down 69 and Lepton1 Thank this.

    ...and like Bigfoot they can mess with the optics of your camera. Pictures or video can be taken, but they are all blurry.

    Cummins. My "magician" quoted $2500 to replace the gasket. Might be more, depending on what else he finds.

    How many miles are on the engine? Seriously consider doing the bull gear while you got it open. Sure cummins isn't known for bad bull gears like a detroit is..but they do fail eventually. And you got 98%of the labor costs in getting the front cover off. At least mention it to him and get his opinion.

    Ya. Do the bull gear. It's gonna need done eventually. Do it now when it won't be much of an additional cost.

    Edit: I'm not a cummins guy, so don't take that as gospel, maybe bull gears just don't wear in a cummins. Ask that magician.

    Hey, would you guys knock off talking about trucks fer a minute or two? We're trying to discuss snow snakes, and various other edible delicacies here!:biggrin_25513: :biggrin_25522:

    Oh heck they are all over in the winter time, in Colorado! I'll bet Flo and Hammer see them all the time! You know, they actually form a hoop, and roll down hills! That's what makes 'em so fast! And when they are hungry, they just find a milk cow and latch onto an udder, until they are udderly satisfied!
    :biggrin_2552::biggrin_2554:
    And they're some good eatin' too!

    A couple of weeks ago millions of them were migrating across I25 in Wyoming to get to their breeding grounds. Reminded me of that place that has the crab migration, millions of those snow snakes. I think that Wyoming has the largest native population. We don't seem to have as many in Montana. They do seem to congregate between Big Timber and Livingston though.

    Well, they are totaling up the bill now and as soon as my shop guy gets in to authorize the checks...that's right, plural...I'll be on my way to Klamath after about 4 days of setting on my arse doing nothing. Nice to be working again.
