Will a couple of mile per hr increase pulling a hill make that big of a difference for you?
I went with the 455 because that's how the dealer I bought the truck from spec's his trucks. I wouldn't of hesitated to buy one with the 425 at 2.64 ratio. They are built for fuel economy, although I will be honest with you, my truck is getting just as good of fuel economy as when I was driving the company truck spec'd at 425 & 2.64.

Then I wouldn't buy one where the dealer couldn't provide a record of maintenance, period.
When I go to sell or trade-in my truck, the buyer or the dealer will have a detailed spreadsheet of every single thing that has ever been done to my truck, including a blinker light replacement

Yes it will. I run hard and don't pussyfoot around trying to save a few cents a mile on fuel owning only 1 truck. If I had 100 trucks I would feel differently but I don't. I'm still averaging upwards of 6mpg running wide open on the pedal and 80 on the cruise. I would just like to get over the hills a little faster.

Well, then you answered your own question

My question was would the extra 50HP make a noticable difference?
-
I thought I answered the question from my perspective.
Guess not... -
Not big deal for couple of miles increase per hr but in the same time you will climb hills with no issues I mean driver not going to feel truck weak when driving up ? That's way I was asking about Hp between 425 or 455 About the fuel economy I think is depend of you pulling heavy loads or light loads and don't ferget about the freeway some of them too much hills sure everyone owner operators happy with light load should make 7.5m per gallon and for heavy one like you said around 6m per gallon .from what I heard from drivers If I get the chance to run my own truck I go CA to Portland OR just western States and I believe speed limits CA or OR 55 max 60 slow but this may can help to save some little more fuel ..
