I'm not sure what the proper name is for them, I'm talking about the pieces of metal that come off the back of the sleeper towards the back of the truck. One of the drivers I work with jack knifed his truck and bent one of those up pretty bad. My question is can I remove them without messing with aerodynamics too bad, and if so what's the best way to go about it? Looks to me like I just need to drill the rivets out. The truck is an 06 379. Thanks

I think your on the right track on how to remove them, as far as aerodynamics I wouldn't think it would make alot of differance as you see several standups without them and most all flat tops do not have them. You may have a differance in paint shades where the panels have been, this is just my opinion and you know what they say about that. Good luck

They came off pretty easy, just drilled the rivets, pulled them off, and pt new rivets in the holes. Peterbilt does not paint behind them so I had to do some paint work but the project turned out good.
