This might have been addressed.I was talking to a driver he ran elog peoplenet. He said that it knows the speed limit of the road he traveling on, and his company can and does go back at end of the week to check his over speed percentage. If all are going to have this elogs can law enforcement see your over speed also. Also for O/O with own athority could your insurance companies link up to it to see your driving habits.Just curious if anyone knows

The elog software doesn't have that.... the mapping software can do that... not the same program

You're right, but you can bet having every truck linked in to the DOT is their ultimate goal. Can u imagine any cop being able to have all that at his fingertips as you drive by him? It's not too far fetched.fordconvert Thanks this.

Can you imagine they just send you the ticket in the mail? Then they'd only need to make contact to haul you to jail.
-
Do you know anything about KeepTrucking for logs?
-
Even if we assume that is there ultimate goal, it took 20 years for them to push through this eobr mandate. So I'm not to concerned about the dot being linked to my truck any time soon.Robert85006 Thanks this.

The only ones who need to worry about the big bad DOT are the ones who got the rules changed in the first place. The rest of us: just carry on.
spyder7723, Roberts450 and flood Thank this. -
The only problem with e-logs is you can't break the law without being caught. All of the complaints revolve around fudging numbers and speeding. The very things that caused e-logs to become mandatory. If anyone should be mad about it, it should be the law abiding truckers. The cowboys created the problem and now want to bee-atch about it.
I can't believe we are already going to the black helicopter conspiracies! Ha!spyder7723 Thanks this.
