Sigh.
Well thanks for nudging me awake.
Haven't updated cuz I've been in one of my moods. I get depressed every now and then for a week or so. It usually happens after a week of being the opposite for a week or so. I think they call it bi polar or something. So I was just in a funk and getting down on myself, and was just tired and burned out. Started having thoughts about trying to sell my truck and go live as a hermit. And worse. But I deal with these issues from time to time. I'm much better now.lol
Last week I emptied Monday in Jacksonville, FL and needed a break. My aunt lives in Panama City Beach, FL so I went and spent 2 days with her, went to dinner, went and laid on the beach for a bit, went to the bar. Now it's spring break season and I was thinking it's gonna be a party! But there was nobody there. Not even Girls Gone Wild! WTF???.
Got a load out of the port there Thursday going to terre haute, in for almost $1.50/mi. Del Friday morning and nothing but cheap crap, so I sat all weekend and got some more rest.
I ended up getting the PM done finally at the dealership Vomac, they did a good job. $355. 26,111 miles.
Then went to Petro in Brazil and got a 3 axle alignment done. I really needed it done and couldn't put it off any longer, seeing as how my tires were starting to get dull on one edge while sharp on the others.
I can't attest to the quality of how they did, but it's not pulling to the right nearly as bad as it was. Now it seems to be pulling just from the crown of the road. I go to the left lane and it doesn't pull right like it used to. Definitely had some minor wear issues cropping up. The kid showed me the Lazer report from before and after, he said they were definitely out of whack. $215.99.
I went through all my numbers on Sunday. I'm getting 6.56 mpg this year.
As far as my revenue and expenses, I've ran 24,200 miles loaded and empty and avg $1.60/mile. Including all my work expenses, including plates, Webasto, my $10,000 down payment on the truck, I'm nearly in the green. Of course I spread those costs out over a year when I figure my fixed expenses per week, but I think I've profited like $12,000 or so for the year.
A little more than a well paid company driver.
Anyways,
Got a load Monday 120 miles empty to Decatur, IL to Western SC for $1.90 loaded. Emptied earlier, went through the gorge for the first time in years. Blowing snow there today. Was a little of a pain. Not as bad as I remember it being when I was green. But everything was worse when you were new to driving 18 wheels, right?
Sitting now east of Atlanta. Picking up a late pick load in a couple of hours a mile away, two stops in the morning. 129 loaded miles, 85 empty, got a G for it. Thanks to my boss who found it for me. Nice catch. I'll be able to figure it into my hours to be available for another short run tomorrow when I empty. Not sure where to go from Atlanta, though. Kinda want to stay south, but want the revenue. Atlanta been hot though so we'll see. I just took a nap and I'll get another one tonight after I pickup.Bean Jr., TheDudeAbides, mladen86 and 2 others Thank this. -
