I've used Flying J for 2 years nd found the quality declining in recent months . At several locations I will lose the signal and get a "limited connection " or "local service only " notice on my computer .
Loves has been very good and Petro is very strong . I can pick up a Petro signal in a Flying J nearby while I have to try 3 or 4 parking spots in the J before I get a signal . -
I used to have a program on my laptop that piggybacked onto the wifi and at businesses, truckstops, etc. All I would do was get my laptop running, wait for my verizon card to show what network's were near by, I would open the program and it would go to work trying to hack into or piggyback onto the networks. The fastest truckstop service I ever found was in Ontario, Ore. the slowest was any Flying J. The fastest in general was at Sysco Foods in Billings, Mt. According to my tracking program it was reading 32 mbs download speed. Worked great for about 30 minutes, then suddenly locked me out of the server. Too bad I lost the program, it was great to get free service with.

Use Millenicom. They have a "gentleman's agreement" at 5gb, but have yet to bug me if I go over. I do youtube and Hulu fairly often and have yet to go over much, though. Its just keeping an eye on what you do, and what you are downloading.
If you do a bit of research, you can set your home computer up with a remote connection. Then, while on the road, you can set it up to DL whatever it is you want, ad then get a large USB hard drive to bring the media with you. -
Any update on this?

Oh hell yes. Cellular coverage is much much cheaper these days. If you do a search you can find a more upto date thread.
