You have a nice clean lookin engine there. Glad to see you got your problem resolved. Did you have an out-of-frame rebuild or in-frame?

Grove or not, does the oil hole in cam bearings line up with oil holes in casting. Glad you took time to catch that!

Thank you SAR! This is my own truck and first attempt to rebuild inframe. Outside of dropping the crank and separating the transmission, everything was peeled off, cleaned and painted. Now the fun part...assembly! SAR Thanks this.

I'm not certain the oil holes lined up. The manual mentions the seam of the bearing being at a certain angle in the bore...it's not. I did blow air through the oil passages and they all were open. This is my first go round with a cat 3406E thanks for your replies SUPER H!SAR Thanks this.

You found 2 mistakes on that head rebuild and you use reputable in describing them? Cat doesn't want the cam load on the bearing seam. I would take it do a different shopWyoVac Thanks this.

Good point, I didn't think of the camload in relation to the bearing seam.
