Tip, yes, that is perfect! Thanks for starting the new section out. I will leave other section up for maybe a week or so and then delete it. (used to be www.thetruckersreport.com/truckingcompanyreports/ ) now it's here where everyone actually is, LOL. Plus we don't have to sign into two forums now. I realize the asthetics might need touched up, but I'm concerned with workability at this point. Don't you love being able to submit a DAC report on a trucking company like they do you? But, we are open about it!

 

Ive been at Crete over four years and so far so good.Is it perfect?No,but its good.Good pay,home times good too.I live in D/fw area so that might make a difference.Lots of frieght.So if you think you would like that give them a call.Wouldnt hurt to look into it.

 

Hatley--I'm new to the trucking world and looking for a good home time company. I live in DFW as well. What is your home time like?

 

Crete has always been pretty good about the home time.You could expect 2 weeks or so.But you do have to ask for it about 7-10 in advance.Sorry I didnt get back to you sooner

 

Hey how hard is it to get a trainer right away? I'll be finishing up CDL school 1st week of Feb....Crete said that I could come aboard right away but it depends on if there is a trainer available to take me out for my 8 wks.
I'd hate to be sitting for months waiting for a trainer with NO PAY..

actually I know for a fact that there will be a train the "trainer" course in January and they will be hiring more at that time. This company is extremely observant regarding their need for Trainers the problem is they have such strict guidelines that it can take a person who wants to be a trainer almost 6mos. I know this since my husband is waiting till his 6mos. is over and that is also making sure you have no log violation of "ANY SORT" if you go over your logs even 15minutes...then it puts you right back to waiting for 6mos. So at this rate, My husband will go to the January class and will probably be a trainer sometime in April. But non the less they will be having several people for the next train the trainer session. In order to "be" a trainer you must have a good record with your logs, no accidents, no violations of any sort and have at least 12 months of OTR driving "with" Crete Carrier. They will not put a students life in jeperdy with someone they are not 100% sure he is committed to properly training the student. If nothing else, you should feel glad that they are willing to make sure you get the very best training they have to offer, because one thing is for sure... they care about their drivers.
